Are you new to acupuncture? Here are some of the most common questions we’re asked.

How Does Acupuncture Work?

In a session, Craig will talk with you about what you’re feeling or experiencing. Then, he’ll ask your body what it’s experiencing by taking your radial pulse and perhaps palpating your abdomen. Next, based upon what you and your body has shared with him, Craig will insert between five and 15 needles on various parts of your body.

Is Nutrition Important?

A proper nutrition plan is a great idea wherever you are in your life. Craig can help you evaluate your current plan and suggest ways to enhance the results you’re seeing through acupuncture.

How Long Does It Take To Work?

Acupuncture results depend on your specific symptoms. Some challenging cases require a treatment plan. In many cases, you can expect some initial relief immediately.

Are the Needles Sterile?

Craig uses single-use, disposable needles that are absolutely sterile. There is virtually no risk of infection from the needles.

Does It Hurt?

The needles are extremely fine — about the same as the filament you might see in a mini light or fairy light. Once in place, the needles will stay in place for up to 45 minutes while you lean back and let your body do its work. During this time, patients have been known to experience tingling, warmth, coolness, buzzing or nothing at the insertion sites.

Are There Side Effects?

The most common side effects are fatigue and emotional release as the procedure creates room for your body and mind to relax. Other, less common side effects are soreness, bruising, and ocassional muscle twitching.

Traditional Chinese Medicine explains that health is the result of harmonious balance of the complementary extremes of Yin & Yang.

Improve your body’s function and promote the natural self-healing process by stimulation.

Acupuncture has been used to treat a host of conditions, including but not limited to:

  • Chemotherapy-induced and postoperative nausea and vomiting
  • Dental pain
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Headaches, including tension and migraine headaches
  • Labor pain
  • Low back pain

Acupuncture is a form of Chinese medicine that has been practiced for centuries. It’s based on the theory that energy, called chi (say “chee”), flows through and around your body along pathways called meridians. The big idea is that the stimulation boosts your body’s natural painkillers and increases blood flow.

I see Craig for acupuncture treatments. He is amazing. I've been battling horrible plantar fasciitis for almost a year. I have tried so many different treatments to alleviate my pain but nothing has worked. A friend said to give Craig a try and I am so happy I did. My pain has gone from a 10+ to a 4-5. I am able to walk and take short hikes. I highly recommend this facility.
